Matt Osterberg was a 2017 graduate of Coleman High School. He was a 4-year letter winner in Baseball. In his 4 years, his awards include: All-State Division 3 Player of the Year, All-State Honorable Mention Pitcher, All-District First Team and Honorable Mention Pitcher, M&O Conference First Team Pitcher x3, and was a WBCA All-Star and All-State American Legion All-Star selection in 2017. He currently holds the Coleman High School career strikeout record at 368 and finished his senior year with a .75 ERA and 122 strikeouts.
Matt finished his career at St. Cloud State University in 2021. He spent all 4 years there as a starting pitcher, accumulating 160 innings with a 3.72 ERA. He also played a both a full summer in the Northwoods League in 2019 and a shortened summer in 2021 before being drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 15th round of the 2021 MLB Draft.
Over the last three years, Matt has thrown 208 innings across 3 levels of Minor League baseball, mostly as a starting pitcher. He currently plays for the Reading Fightin’ Phils, the Double-A affiliate of the Phillies.
