Jake Lucas

Jake began going to Velocity when he was a sophomore to improve both mechanically and mentally. They have helped him improve dramatically as a hitter as well as refining his pitching. The staff there also taught him that there are many ups and downs associated with the game and how to manage that. Working with Jack, Ben, and the rest of the Velocity staff has helped shaped the baseball player and the person he is today.

The staff at Velocity helped my son Joe improve his hitting drastically. They stuck with him through the ups and the downs to help him achieve his goal of playing college baseball, which he will be attending McHenry County College in IL. He always loved the energetic atmosphere that can always be found at the facility. He also raves about how the coaches push people to be their best. If you want to achieve your baseball goals Velocity is the place to be!

In high school, I was a kid who was barley touching 70 as a freshman. After my freshman year, I had a dream that I was going to play college baseball. I went to Velocity for the next 3 years during my high school career and was apart of their APP Pitching Program as well as doing private lessons. I started going more and I started to see a lot more improvements. Velocity helped me fix my mechanics, gain weight and get me to the velocity I needed to be at. My senior year came around and I was sitting 82-86. After the high school season was done I was serious about gaining velocity, and I wanted to hit 90 during my freshman year in college. I was able to work with Velocity that summer as well as during christmas break when i was in college. When spring came around my freshman year, I was able to have a starting role while also sitting 88-90 and touching 91. If there is anyone to help you get you where you want to go and you are willing to put the work and effort in, Velocity is the place to go.

When I started at Velocity I saw college baseball as just a dream.  I was weak, and could barely throw over 70 mph. After 2 years of work, I found myself way stronger and having much more endurance. I went from a JV player to a varsity ace who could throw mid 80s and could pitch 7 innings whenever I went out.  I credit my success to the 2 years of work with Velocity.  With the off-season workouts, I made my dreams a reality.

Velocity Performance Training transformed how I viewed the game of baseball and how I trained for it. I was introduced to the 16 week throwing velocity program my sophomore year. The program taught me more than just increasing numbers, it taught how to increase numbers safely through arm care, how to be more athletic, and most importantly it taught discipline. The facility and training tools Velocity provides gave me every opportunity I needed to improve whenever I wanted. From the beginning of my sophomore year to the end of it, I went from 80-83 mph up to 86-89 mph. Definitely a program and facility I would recommend doing your training through if you want to reach your full potential in an encouraging and electric environment.

Velocity has helped Caden develop into the pitcher he is today from both the mental and physical aspects. Last spring he was sitting 80-83 and now is sitting 89-90 topping at 93. Caden also learned the art of pitching with Jack and became a better pitcher because of it. If you’re looking to get to the next level, Velocity is the place to be.

During an odd covid year, I came to velocity to find a place to work out in preparation for my senior year. Jack helped me gain and maintain velocity as well as understand my ability to be a pitcher within the game. He helped me sit from the mid to upper 80s to maintain velocity into the low 90s and using my abilities as best as possible, I would recommend Velocity to anyone trying to further their game in baseball.

Velocity baseball training program has made a huge impact on my arm strength and overall approach to pitching. I was able to go from topping out at 83 to 88 mph in one off-season by working with Velocity. Although you’ll only get notable results if you’re willing to put in the effort. If you’re willing to put 100% percent of your effort into the training you will see very noticeable improvement by training with Velocity.

I came into Velocity not being able to throw harder than 83 mph with no attention from any colleges. After training for an off-season with Velocity and working on my mechanics, I now sit at 85-86 (T87) mph. With this progress, I caught the attention of St. Cloud State University. I received an offer to play Division 2 baseball. Velocity does an amazing job at training athletes and specializes in arm care to lower the risk of injury but also increase throwing velocity as much as possible.

Velocity hitting and pitching helped me out so much! I came there as a freshmen in high school not knowing if I should pitch anymore or try doing some other position. But after the long 16 weeks of working out and learning all the fundamentals about pitching I improved my pitching speed and stamina. I never thought I could say this before I went to velocity pitching and hitting but coming to the program made me a college baseball athlete at Madison College. I wouldn’t have accomplished this goal of mine without the help of velocity. This experience has helped me out so much thanks to Mike Collins! He does not only teach the game better than anyone but he teaches it in way that you will understand.

When I was in 9th grade I was about 5’ 10” 160 lbs. with poor off speed and my fastball topped out at 75 mph. Working with velocity for 6 months I got my fastball up to 84-85 and packed on 15 pounds, but not only did they teach and train me to throw harder they taught me how to properly take care of my arm. On top of all that they taught me the mental part of the game when to throw pitches in certain situations and counts. Also when to relax in pressure situations. Finally it doesn’t matter who you’re working with at Velocity every person there has connections and if you are willing to put the time and effort in to becoming the best baseball player you can be, they will make sure you get your shot at the next level. I wouldn’t be where I am today with out them!

Our daughter is in her second year working with Mike and the rest of the staff at Velocity. We are extremely pleased with the quality of instruction Velocity provides to Riley while enhancing her strength, endurance and overall confidence. Our experience at Velocity has been extremely positive and in the past year and a half Riley’s PR on her fastball has increased from 63mph to 68mph. We look forward to continuing our time with Velocity to see how far Riley’s potential can take her.

Velocity’s APP program has brought me to be a better pitcher.  Over the course of 3 years, I had gained about 15 mph on my fastball and developed my secondary pitches as well. Being in the program with other guys my skill level really pushed me to be a better pitcher. With a variety of exercises and a laid back but fast paced routine, it didn’t seem so much like a workout but rather a weekend social with talented players. In the end, once I started, I had seen results so I kept enrolling.

When I tried out for the Velocity 17u team, I threw 77 MPH across the diamond. I was placed on the practice squad, a guy that was most likely going to get cut. I trusted the training with Velocity and did all of the possible training classes, as well as lessons I could get into in order to try and earn my spot on the team. I ended up being the starting shortstop on the summer team, throwing 89 MPH across the diamond on max out day. I also improved my exit Velocity from 78 MPH to 92 MPH in a year with the Velocity Explosive Hitter training classes. Not only did this training move up my numbers, it also allowed me the opportunity to receive a scholarship from a school I never would have gotten one from without training with them. You truly get out what you put in, training with Jack, Mike and the other guys pushed me to get better and ultimately was a large part of how I got to where I am at today.

Velocity has helped Logan grow into the player and person he is today. Working with Jack the last 2 years has not only increased his velocity but it taught him much more about the mental side of pitching and the game. The training pushes players to reach their full potential in a competitive environment where they grow in strength and confidence. They were also a great resource for Logan during the recruiting process, I would definitely recommend Velocity to anyone who aspires to play at the next level.

I came to Velocity in the fall of 2021 to gain velocity and clean up my mechanics to make them as efficient as possible. Velocity helped me learn more about my mechanics and things I need to work on to become the best pitcher I can possibly be. They have lots of tools to help with things like pitch design, spin efficiency, and using the lower half correctly. Jack helped me develop better throwing habits that transfer to higher velocity and will keep my arm healthy. I would recommend Velocity to anyone trying to tap into their potential and become a better baseball player.

Payton Kohnle

Payton was part of the Velocity program for three seasons. Jack and his staff played a large role in making Payton the multi-tooled player he is today. Playing both fall and summer ball helped him have success against top level talent. The winter training program was very beneficial in making Payton stronger and faster. The off season training also helped him excel in football and basketball alike.

Velocity gave Payton the opportunity to see that he could play at the next level.  The three years at Velocity helped push Payton to reach his full potential in a competitive atmosphere. Payton has improved in all facets of the game and plays with great confidence. Jack was also very instrumental in helping Payton in the college recruiting process.

Velocity has also given Payton a chance to play with kids from outside of Kewaunee. He came to the program not knowing any of the athletes and left with lifelong friends.
I would highly recommend Velocity to anyone who loves baseball and wants to chase their college dreams.

Our daughter also received arm care and hitting lessons from Velocity for the past 3 years and played on the 16U Green Bay Velocity and will play on the 18U Green Bay Velocity team this summer.  Velocity’s weekly training sessions focus on increasing overall core strength, velocity and mechanics of throwing, hitting and pitching.  Our daughter loves coming to workouts when growth and development is encouraged and celebrated.

Being surrounded by like-minded and focused athletes creates a consistent and positive environment for baseball and softball players to reach their full potential.  Our daughter is a junior in high school and has verbally committed to play softball at Division 1, University of Northern Iowa.  The Velocity staff is knowledgeable in teaching the mental and the physical aspects of the game. The staff works to know each player by name and value them as a person and ball player.

Velocity’s training has helped me iron out the things that were holding me back from taking my game to the next level. I sat 86-88 last year and after one winter with them I now sit 89-92 touching 93. If you’re willing to put in the work you will get the results. No doubt you get what you put in. I came in throwing around 60 mph and over the span of two winters I was able to bump my velocity up to around 80 by the time I was done. Some people thought it was crazy driving 45 minutes from Algoma every Saturday morning for 7 a.m., but to me it was well worth it. The program is more than just throwing, I learned proper mechanics, arm care, and the circuit workouts benefit every player no matter what position. By building up my arm strength I was able to show college coaches that I could play infield or outfield at the next level. I am attending Concordia University Wisconsin as a member on the baseball team, I topped out at 85 mph on our max crow hops this fall. That is only possible because of the work I put in with Velocity Training. I have to thank Mike Collins for allowing me to participate in these workouts.

Velocity Performance Training has done great things for me. Being one of the very first members to be a part of the program, and going through the program since I was a freshman in high school, has made a huge impact on where I am today. Doing the Velocity pitching program increased not only my velocity but my pitch-ability significantly. As a freshman I was only throwing 77-79 and touching 80, by the end of my senior season I was able to sit upper 80’s and touch 90. This program got me where I needed to be to become a college pitcher and at the end of my junior season I received a scholarship to play Division 1 baseball at the University of North Dakota. I would recommend this program to anyone who is looking to further their baseball careers collegiately and become a dominant pitcher.
